Get Ready for Some Fresh Faces: The New Emoji Coming to Your iPhone in 2026
Apple users, brace yourselves! A new batch of emoji is on its way to your iPhones in early 2026. But here's the scoop: these aren't just any emojis. They're part of Unicode 17.0, which was approved by the Unicode Consortium in September 2025. That means you'll be seeing these on both iPhones and Android devices.
The eight new emoji include:
- Trombone
- Treasure chest
- Distorted face
- Hairy creature (Sasquatch)
- Fight cloud
- Orca
- Ballet dancers
- Landslide
The Unicode Consortium praised these new emojis for their long-standing symbolic meanings, visual distinctiveness, and ability to convey a multitude of expressions. They were proposed in November 2024, along with an apple core emoji, but the apple core was withdrawn before approval.
