'Love Story', a dramatization of the relationship between John F. Kennedy Jr. and Carolyn Bessette, faced initial backlash over costume and styling choices in test photos. Paul Anthony Kelly, who portrays John F. Kennedy Jr., shared with USA TODAY, "It really made us work harder. We had to dive deeper and get every detail just right."
And dive deeper they did! Ryan Murphy, the series creator, clarified that the initial test photos were merely a work in progress, intended for lighting and color adjustments. He even replaced the costume designer mid-production to ensure historical accuracy.
Connor Hines, the series creator, adds, "Once we had it all figured out, we realized it was ultimately a blessing. Everybody ended up looking fantastic."
