Once the microrobot reaches its destination, a high-frequency magnetic field heats the gel capsule, causing it to dissolve and release the medication. This precise delivery method ensures that the drugs are administered exactly where they're needed, maximizing their effectiveness.

To track the microrobot's movement, the researchers have equipped it with tantalum nanoparticles, a contrast agent commonly used in medicine. However, controlling these nanoparticles is more challenging due to their weight, adding an extra layer of complexity to the process.

This innovative technology has the potential to revolutionize medical treatment, offering a more targeted and efficient approach to fighting diseases. Switzerland, known for its watchmaking, chocolate, and pharmaceutical industries, is now also making its mark in the field of robotics research.
