Get ready for a captivating transformation as girl group Dolla steps into the spotlight with their latest music video, "Question." This release is a bold departure from their usual intense and bold image, showcasing a softer, more mature side that will leave you wanting more.
"Question" is a bubblegum pop masterpiece, filmed in a retro diner-style cafe in Kuala Lumpur, bringing a unique and nostalgic vibe to the screen. The video took a whopping 28 hours to complete, but the dedication paid off, resulting in a stunning visual experience.
Tabby, Angel, and Sabronzo, the talented members of Dolla, shared their insights during a press conference. Tabby, whose full name is Tabitha Ariel Lam, praised the production team and cafe staff for their commitment, ensuring a smooth filming process despite the late hours.
"We started filming around 10 pm, and the cafe owners were incredibly supportive, staying with us until 7 am to ensure everything went perfectly," Tabby revealed.
Co-written by Justin Seow, Kuizz, Aziz Harun, and the group itself, "Question" is a powerful blend of lyrical storytelling and a catchy melody. It reflects the group's artistic growth and maturity, with a storyline that is both entertaining and thought-provoking.
Tabby described the song as a unique blend of lightheartedness and depth, exploring themes of betrayal and heartbreak. Angel added that the music video's concept, now available on Dolla's official YouTube channel, resonates with listeners as it tackles relationship red flags, a relatable experience for many.
"It's about those moments when we don't realize the warning signs, but the song makes us smile and think simultaneously," Angel explained.
Sabronzo, or Wan Sabrina Wan Rusli, highlighted the group's collaboration with Thai choreographer Akkaraphol Prompen, also known as Earth-E. His choreography brings a fresh and feminine perspective to the dance routine, combining graceful movements with unique formations and smooth transitions that perfectly capture the song's attitude and energy.
"We wanted the dance to exude confidence while still being fun, and Earth-E's style brought that vision to life," Sabronzo said.
The music video also stars actor Lorenzo Irmann, who plays the role of the unfaithful boyfriend, cheating on all the Dolla members.
